Initial Ideas And Plans For My Music Magazine

Type/Focus Of Magazine
There will be a range of different music genres and tastes so it will appeal to people in the age group of 16-25, but there will be no specific genre of music, just eclectic so that anybody interested in a certain area of the issue will read it, it will link heavily to online-related areas of music such as Youtube videos with the most views or viral videos that in in trend at the time, top selling songs or albums on iTunes in the period and give aways.

Target Audience
The magazine's target audience will be people in the age group of 16-25, so there will be a lot of articles non music related that will focus on the interests of people within that age catgory

Price
The magazine will be either free or online because the trend in sales of magazines that are free are highly increasing and a lot more than magazines in which you have to pay for them

Frequency of Publication
Weekly, because that gives time to be able to collect recent information regarding music and current interesting events to pack into a weekly magazine, because one month would be too long to keep in the know of recent music trends and sales etc and daily would become tedious and would get less popular far too quickly because the topics will be very similar

Issue Size
Because the magazine is weekly the magazine size will have to be quite big, so it will vary between 50 and 75 pages weekly, including information regarding subjects non-music related, linked with the internet and current affairs interesting to the target audience

Typical Content
The content will include sales figures of recent songs, for example Top 10's on iTunes for albums and tracks aswell as most watched or trending videos on YouTube, interviews with bands or music artists, reviews on new albums or tracks, upcoming events such as gigs and festivals, competitions like win an iTunes voucher, but you'd have to buy the magazine, obtain the code then enter via the website, tracks of the week, young and upcoming artists that deserve to be known as well as main interviews and features related to the front page.
